Happy Friday!

  Happy Friday Friends!

I am a tired girl this morning.  Gracie didn't get home from her basketball game until almost 1:00 this morning.  Needless to say, this weekend is a welcomed sight!  If you're trying to find me, I'll be sleeping.  ;)

Here are a few favorites from the week.

~ONE~

We went sledding last weekend and had tons of fun.  After riding over a couple of small jumps/bumps in the snow, I remembered that I'm not as young as I once was.  I've already sent my brother in law a text letting him know that I'm going to need an adjustment sooner than later.  ;)  But besides that, we all had a lot of fun.  I'm hoping the weather will warm up again soon, so we can head back out.  -15 isn't my kind of weather.

Here's a couple pictures of my sister and I.

I think next time, I want to ride on the front of the sled.  Haha!

~TWO~

I'm loving this song called, Joy, by Jonny Diaz.

If you're needing a new workout song or just a fun song to dance around the house to, check it out... it's my favorite!

~THREE~

These Essie gels...  I'm probably a little late to the game on this, but I had tried Essie before, and didn't understand all the hype.  Well, I get it now.  You just have to use 4 different polishes, and you're good!  This kind of polish you don't need the light for, and I can get it to stay on my nails for a week usually without chipping.

Buff your nails a bit, and then use this for your base coat.

Then you can do 2 or 3 layers of whatever color you want.  This is called, 'Wicked' and is one of my favorites.

Then I brush this top coat on.

And finally I use this white bottle as an extra top coat, which also makes the nails a bit shinier.  The pink bottle is part of this 2 piece set, but is also my other favorite color.  It's just light and classy.  They are pretty fast drying, I just wait a minute or so between each layer.  When you are finally done with the top coat, I'd sit and let it dry for a good 10-15 minutes, just to let it set good.

~FOUR~

I bought a sewing machine with my birthday money from last October.  Then on Christmas both Emma and Gracie got fabric in their stockings, and Emma has started on her quilt.  I don't know the first thing about sewing, but I think it's fun that we'll all get to learn together.

These are the two packs of material that the girls got.  I love the colors, and thought the patterns were cute.

I'm hoping this is something that the 3 of us will have a lot of fun with.

~FIVE~

I came across this on Facebook, and loved it!  Is it true or what?!  We can have one thing go wrong and we let it ruin our whole day.  Tell me I'm not the only one!

Well, that's all I got for you today...

I'm linking up today with Andrea, Erika & Narci.

And Christina, April & Natasha with Five On Friday.

Enjoy your weekend!

  2. I love that quote and have to think about that so often when something bad happens! It definitely puts things in perspective :) The sledding pictures look so fun. We did that a few years ago and it definitely reminded me that I was not as young as my nieces! ha! Happy Friday!

    1. I need to remember it often as well. I'm thinking I should print it, and slip it in my planner, so I see it daily. Have a great weekend!

  3. That quote - I saw it too and put it in my heart to remember every single evening when I am going over the events of the day. WOW that snow! We aren't going to get that much (Southern girl here) but I am kind of, secretly, looking forward to sledding our backyard hill. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

  4. The sledding and fire looked so fun! That quote is something I need to keep in mind! I always wanted to learn to sew and make my own quilt, but I'm always afraid I'm going to mess up, so I don't start and let my sewing machine just sit there.

    1. Oh, I'm sure we will mess up and make tons of mistakes, but I'm hoping we'll just have fun in the process. And maybe end up with a funky quilt or three. You should go for it!

  5. I LOVE that quote! I also think it is so much fun that you and your girls are going to learn to sew together. I do not know how to sew but would love to learn. I also love the beautiful/cute fabrics that your kiddos got in their stockings. Have a great weekend with your family!

  8. My Texas skin wouldn't be able to take -15 weather. It's been under 30 here for two days and I'm about to freeze to death! But I'm super jealous of the sledding fun!
