Happy Friday

Happy Friday Friends!

This has been such a weird week.  We didn't have school on Monday and then Wednesday & yesterday the schools had 2 hour delayed starts, due to freezing rain.  Emma was home on Tuesday and Wednesday with an eye infection.  Gracie's basketball trip yesterday got postponed and Jesse's ski trip for today is canceled.  I'm telling ya, I don't know whether I'm coming or going.  I could have just tossed my planner in the trash for all the good it did me this week.

I want to say I am looking forward to the weekend, but I'm also kind of going into it not really sure what it will look like, but praying it's a good one.  :)

Today, I just have a couple of favorites that I wanted to share with you today.

An Uncommon Courtship
I just finished reading this book and really enjoyed it!  My review will be up next week, but if you want a fun book set back in time with Earls, Ladies, and Dukes... you'll like this one.  It's actually a series, and I think this is number 3.  I think you could read this separately though.   (This is one that I received from the publisher in exchange for an honest review, but that's not why I'm sharing it now.  I just liked it enough to tell you about it early.)

I know there are a lot of link ups out there, but I just wanted to share this new one with you.  Erin, who's blog I've recently been following has started up her own link up party and I think you'll love it.  The next link up is February 10th - 10 favorite items in your closet.

Okay, so that was it.  Two favorites... but to balance it out, here's a non favorite.

Last week I shared about how I had ordered a Fitbit and I was also tracking my calories and my exercises on an app.  Well, I'm still doing it, but it's not fun anymore.  I want chips, cookies, french fries, and donuts.  I don't want to give up my coffee creamer, or my glass of wine in the evening.  But I also don't want that tire that seems to go around my waist, so I'm not giving up, but I'm tired and not very motivated.  I feel like this meme understands me.  ;)
If you are watching what you are eating, and you're actually enjoying it, send some food tips my way.  I refuse to eat food that doesn't taste good, so I'm trying to be creative.  If you tell me to just eat plain celery, I'm afraid we can't be friends.  ;)

Today I linked up with Andrea, Erika & Narci.
And Christina, April & Natasha with Five On Friday.

I hope you all have a great weekend, and I'll see you back here next week.

XO,

  2. Happy Friday! I came across your blog from the linkup. Definitely sounds like you have a lot going on. Those weeks where everything is thrown off are so hard to bounce back from. Hoping this weekend is good one for you! Beautifully Candid

  4. Jenny, have you tried the sugar free coffee creamers? They have less calories and are a little sweeter (IMHO).I don't like the fat free though, they don't seem to give the coffee andy "body". I wore my Fitbit for probably six months until I started noticing a "dent" in my wrist (I have the tiniest wrists...why oh why couldn't it have been my thighs???) Anyway, I quit wearing it. I've got to add the 10 on the 10th to my planner. Have a great weekend.

    1. Coffee creamer is hard to give up. I'm trying to watch what I eat but still have some fun in my life... I might just have to exercise more to keep the creamer in my life. ;)

  6. I actually lol'd at the carrot graphic. The first few weeks are the hardest, but if you can stick with it and get through the cravings will go away.
