Egypt's Sister

Angela Hunt is an exceptional writer who once again has written an incredible story.  This particular novel of Cleopatra, was so well written that I honestly can't even begin to tell you how impressed I am.  This book wasn't just whipped up overnight... Angela Hunt clearly did her homework and knew what she was writing about.

The main character in this book isn't Cleopatra herself, but her childhood friend Chava.  Through Chava's eyes, we see what life is like for royalty, commoners and slaves.  The only thing I wish this book had, was a bit more closure.  I love closure, and yes, I could imagine how it would have all played out, but I would have preferred to have read it.  I would have rated this book a 5 star had there been just a chapter or two more.

All that being said, I would highly recommend reading Egypt's Sister if you love historical fiction, or if you are interested in what life might have been like back in Cleopatra's day and age.  It takes a couple chapters to get into it, but once you do, I just know you'd love it!

* I received a free copy of this book from Bethany House Publisher, in exchange for an honest review.  All opinions are my own.

What have you been reading this summer?

Enjoy your day!
