Happy Friday!

 Happy Friday Friends!

It's been a little quiet over here on the blog, but just because I've been busy living life.

I wanted to share a few things that I'm loving this week.

First up...

1. Amazon Prime

First off, can we all just take a minute to appreciate Amazon Prime!  It doesn't get any easier than having the UPS man drop off a stack of boxes on my front steps.  Two day shipping  ✓,  Christmas presents ✓ , household goods  ✓, stuff I don't need ✓✓.

So today, and as far as I can see the future, I am thankful for Amazon Prime!

2. Buffalo Plaid Fleece Throw

If I end up making a gift guide, this throw is going on it.  It's under $20 and would be cute wrapped up underneath the Christmas tree with a new coffee mug and a pair of slippers.  Talk about a cozy gift!

There's also this one that I think is even cuter.  It's a bit more, but it looks really warm.  I mean give me this blanket and drop me off at a cozy cabin for the weekend.  Amen?!

3. Document Boxes

I ordered 3 of these document boxes.  This grey is currently sold out, but there are tons of other colors.  I am planning to use them for my kids as a little keepsake box. I plan to put in a few of their school papers, their sports pictures, their baby outfit that I brought them home from the hospital in... things like that.

I'm hoping that by each of them having their own box, it might cut out some of the stacks of stuff I don't know what to do with.  There are so many papers, pictures, etc from over the years that it starts to add up.  My plan is to put the things that I love and that I think they'll appreciate into the boxes and the rest can be tossed.

  4. Photo Boxes

Kelsey shared these photo boxes and how she was organizing and storing her pictures.  I must have caught the organizing bug, because I decided to order some and see if I can get my picture situation organized as well.  They showed up yesterday and I shared them on Instagram as well.  If you follow me on Instagram, make sure and check out my stories.  I'm trying to share more often.  :)

5. Holiday Dress

I've been looking for a new dress to wear for a Christmas party that Dan and I are going to and I like the ruffles on the sleeves of this dress.  I don't usually wear red, but I think for a Christmas party it would be fun!  I think I'm going to order it and cross my fingers that it's not too short for my long frame.

6. The Capital Tree

The Capital Tree is coming from Montana this year, and it stopped through town on it's way to DC.

It's hard to see it with the reflection, but it was all lit up and decorated.

My friend Sunny and I got our picture taken by it, because who knows how long it will be before this happens again.

7. Home Sweet Home

Living in this quiet, peaceful, and beautiful valley is a blessing I take for granted way too often.  But when life slows down a bit, and I look around, I remember how thankful I am.  I guess I'm not the only one either.  I showed Emma this picture, and she said, "What's so special about it?  It's just normal."  Isn't it sad that we miss so many beautiful things because we take them for granted.

So that being said... slow down a bit and take in the beauty around you this weekend!

Well, that's it for today...  I hope you all have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites

We've made it to another Friday!  :)

Jesse has his first Junior High basketball game today, so I'm excited to go and watch that this afternoon.  I'll be the crazy Mom in the stands who's cheering and clapping her face off.  I try to contain myself, but I just can't help it.  Maybe it's the former cheerleader in me. ;)  And by cheerleader, I only mean back when I was in Junior High and a couple of years in High school.

Now that I've shared that little tidbit... on to my favorites for the week.

~ONE~

This might seem like just an ordinary picture, but to me, this is the reason I enjoy this time of year.  I love when my house is all quiet and cozy.  None of my kids have found joy in reading, but she has to read a little for school (thank you school), so it made my heart happy to see her sprawled out by the fire.

~TWO~

I got this Idaho Balsam Fir in the mail yesterday and it was instantly a new favorite!  It smells like someone shoved a Christmas tree into this little bottle.

I have bought the artifical Christmas tree scents before from stores like Walmart and Target before, but this is the real deal... and I don't have to feel bad about what harsh chemicals we are smeling, because this is the real thing.

It's seriously Christmas in a bottle!

I'm waiting until after Thanksgiving to use it, but I took it over to my Mom's house yesterday to let her smell it when I was dropping something off, and she went and got her diffuser out and made me share some right then.  Haha!

~THREE~

I don't claim to be good at videoing, but I loved this song on my little Instastory.  The snow isn't my favorite, but you guys...  I've been listening to the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving station on Pandora, and it is so pretty, festive and whimsical.  They also have a Charlie Brown Christmas station that I'll check out once Thanksgiving is over.

What is a favorite Pandora station that you like or even a song for this time of year?

~FOUR~

Nordstrom is having a huge sale right now, and I thought I would share you my favorite find so far.
Look at these Hunter Cable Knit Socks... wouldn't these be so fun paired with your black Hunter boots over the Christmas month.  I put it in my wish list but I don't know how long I can hold out.  I might just have to go for it.  They are 25% off right now, which makes a big difference, as normally I probably wouldn't splurge on something like this.  But aren't they cute!

~FIVE~

Wednesday I shared a day in the life post, which are always my favorites.

If you want to see what a random day in my life looked like, you can check that out here.

 Well, that's it for today...

Are you getting snow where you live?

I hope you guys have a nice and relaxing weekend!

A Day In The Life

I decided to do a day in the life post for you all, and I'm going to say it right now... this is the most boring day in the life and I'm sorry!   But some days are just like that, right?!

For the last couple of weeks, I've been setting my alarm for 5:15.  I hurry out to the kitchen where my coffee is already made and waiting for me and then I hurry back under my covers to do my Bible study for the day.  I've learned over and over again, that if I don't do my study before I do anything else, I won't get it done.  Once my mind is busy doing something else, I have a hard time sitting back down to concentrate.
I have a few thoughts on this study and I can't wait to share them all with you once I've finished it.

So as soon as I'm done with my study, I make my bed...

and head out to the living room to start my diffuser.  I like to diffuse Thieves and Purification first thing in the morning.

Next I started a load of laundry, woke my kids up to start getting ready for school...

and then I sat down to look over my day.  I have the Simplified Planner by Emily Lee and love it!

Often through out my day, I'll click on this app called WordScape.  It's super addicting, and I get sucked into it.  You have to use the letters that are given to you in the circle at the bottom and you have to use those letters to make words up top.

I emptied the dishwasher, warmed up my coffee for the 3rd time and made myself some breakfast.

Lately, I've been toasting half of a bagel and then putting a fried egg and a piece of cheese on top.  Simple and so good!

After taking the kids to the bus, I came back home and snapped this picture.  I love this little valley that we live in.  It gets cold here, but it's so quiet and peaceful.

I sat back down and looked at a few of my favorite blogs.

I hopped through the shower, got dressed and was working on my hair.  I made a lunch date with my sister since I was going to be in town to get groceries for the house.
I switched the laundry and headed to town.
I forgot to take a picture of the two of us, but I did remember to take a picture of my favorite burger.  It's called, Slow Burn.  It's sooo good.  It has cream cheese and jalepeno's inside of the burger.  Then of course I also had to have the side of fried green beans.  Yum!

I got home and unloaded my groceries...

switched out the laundry again and started dinner.

The kids finished their finished their homework, we ate dinner and then the kids carved pumpkins.

It was a fun and relaxing evening.

I sat in bed and played on my phone for a bit and turned out the lights by 10:24.  We don't normally stay up that late, unless we have a good show we are watching.  Usually, I'm in bed by 8:30 and out within the hour.

Well, that's a day in my life.  It was pretty low key, but that's the way I like it.  :)

I hope you all are having a great week!

XO,
