Happy Friday!

Happy Friday Friends!

We have had the most beautiful sunsets here lately.
Last week I ran outside in my pajamas to capture this picture.  He sure knows how to light up the sky, doesn't He?!  :)

I wanted to share a few of my favorites from the week... but honestly, it was kind of a weird week and I don't really have tons to share.  Instead of things that are going on, I thought I'd share a few favorites that I've found while browsing online.

I'm loving the look of this Free People pullover.

I can't get enough of this color... so I'm scooping things up when I find them.  I'm thinking this would be darling with jeans or leggings.  So cute!

This bar pendant necklace...
It's marked down to $9.49 right now... which is such a steal.  This is definitely going in my basket.  So cute and versatile.

I ordered a tee similar to this one.
It's perfect for either a lounge shirt to pair with pajama bottoms, otherwise it would work nicely with a long sleeved plaid shirt, jeans and your favorite booties.

I was on Instagram the other day, and one of my favorite cooking bloggers had this going in her kitchen and I immediately added it to my Amazon wish list.  It's a Breville Smart Oven.  It's definitely not a cheap appliance.  I plan to do a little more research on them, but boy did it look fun.
She was doing all sorts of cool things with it, including making homemade french fries.  I don't really need it, but I sure would like one.  Maybe if I'm good, Santa will bring me one.  ;)

I must be in a cooking mood, because I saw these dutch ovens, and now I really want one as well.
Do you all have a dutch oven?  I haven't ever had one, but now I want an orange one and a red one and... well you get the point.  ;)  If you have one and love it, I'd love to know where you got it from.

Well, that's it for today!  What are you guys finding lately that you are adding to your cart or your wish list?  Let me know in the comments.  I love hearing from you all.

What's Up Wednesday

Today snuck up on me.  I can't believe it's already the last Wednesday of the month.  I was thinking I still had another week.

Be that as it may,  I'm Linking up today with Mel, Shay & Sheaffer to share what we've been up to this last month.

  What we're eating

Roast and Veggies

Pancakes and Sausage

Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches

Steak & Potatoes

What I'm reminiscing about

The warm weather we had this summer.  We have been having 30 degree weather in the mornings with highs in the 50's and 60's.  It's not too bad yet, but I know it's coming, and I already miss the warm mornings.

What I'm loving

All things buffalo plaid.

You can find this scarf here.  It's cute and only $24.

Women's Rock & Republic® Drapey Plaid Shirt

This shirt is on sale for 34.99.  I originally ordered a small, and then decided to send it back and size up to a Medium.  I can't wait.

And I love these buffalo plaid napkins from Amazon.

What we've been up to

Soccer
Volleyball
Soccer
Volleyball

It was pretty much that way from August until just the middle of this month.

What I'm dreading

My back has started hurting again since I've took the summer off from driving up to see my Chiropractor.  I know I need to start making the trips back up, but I dread spending 2 days a week driving out of town to do it.

What I'm working on

This blog... now if only there were enough hours during the day.

Why is there so much to learn and not nearly enough time to sit and figure it all out.  Someday.  :)

 What I'm excited about

The holidays.  I don't care for Halloween, so I look right past it, and I'm excited for Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  I know they are a lot of work, but I love everything that comes with them.  All the fun movies, goodies, and just overall kindness that it brings out in people.

What I'm watching/reading

We had been watching Last Man Standing, but lately I haven't been watching anything.

I did watch a couple of movies, which is a little unlike me.

Here's what I watched...

When Harry Met Sally

Sleepless In Seattle

Serendipity

& Legends of the Fall

I loved all of them!

As far as reading goes, I have been awful lately.  I've just been too distracted to sit long enough to get into a book.  I did finally start one, but I'm not quite halfway through yet.

What I'm listening to

I've had my Pandora playing quite a bit lately.

There's a few stations I like, but I've been enjoying Michael Buble and Tony Bennett Radio.

What I'm wearing

This time of year, I like to wear lots of layers.  So I'm usually wearing pieces like these.
You can check out this post where I shared each of these.

What I'm doing this weekend

Gracie has her last volleyball game on Friday, and then I think we have Saturday free.  I think we're going to spend it working around the house and organizing the garage.  Fun stuff like that.  ;)

What I'm looking forward to next month

Thanksgiving

Time with family

Good food

Holiday cheer

Holiday planning

Family Birthdays

So many good and fun things in November.

What else is new

Jesse has started Junior High basketball... so we'll be following those games now.  :)

Are you all getting excited for the holidays?

I hope you're having a great week so far!

Friday Favorites

I don't know if it's the stage in life we are at right now, but it feels like Fridays keep coming faster and faster each week.  That being said, you won't hear any complaints with me.  ;)

There's no school again today, and we don't have much for plans, so it's looking to be a nice and quiet rainy day at home... perfect!

Soccer ended last weekend, and Jesse's team took 1st place in the county tournament.  His team also went undefeated all season which made for a lot of fun games.  I love that he had a great season, and I'm glad that soccer is officially done and just in time, as the weather has really started to cool off.  Both the drive and the park where he played were so pretty.  I wish Fall would stick around longer than it seems to... it's so pretty!

I've started the Ruth Bible study since the last time I talked about it, and I am really enjoying it.
I was nervous to do a study by someone I hadn't ever tried before, but I am really liking Kelly Minters style of writing.  I am just starting week 2 and feel like I've already learned a few things that I hadn't before.  It's definitely not as intense as a Beth Moore study, but I'm actually enjoying a lighter study at the moment.  There's a season for everything, right?!

A favorite post.

I read this sweet post and I loved it, and thought you might all as well!
It's titled, Because That's What Friends Do.  I promise, you will be glad you read it.

If you missed Wednesday's post, be sure and check it out.  I shared 10 Things To Do To Make Your Home And Family Ready For Winter.

I came across this meme, and had to laugh.

Haha!  What can't our phones do?

Well, that's it for today.

I hope you all have a relaxing and safe weekend.

10 Tips For Getting Your Home And Family Ready For Winter

I'm sure many of you aren't thinking of winter yet, but up here in the North, Fall is a short lived season and Winter is already on most of our minds.  There's been snow up in the mountains for the last couple of weeks, and any day we could wake up to it in our yard as well.

With that being said, we've been trying to take advantage of the nice weather we are having and we're trying to get a few things done around here, so we're ready for winter... even if it comes in the Fall.

Here are 10 tips for getting your home and family ready for winter.

Wash Windows

With it being so cold out for the next 7 months, I'll be spending a lot of time inside.  I don't want to be looking out through dirty windows, so I like to have my windows washed on both the inside and out each Fall.  I don't mind washing the inside windows myself, but I pay someone to come wash the outside windows.  You won't find me climbing up a tall ladder unless I absolutely have to.

Stock The Woodpile

For us, it's already cold outside and will be until May.  Having our woodpile ready is so important.

Spray For Spiders And Bugs

With it getting colder outside, I think the bugs want in my house even more.  Bugs and I don't habitat well together, so I had pest control come spray our house again.  I usually have them come every Spring and Fall.

Freshen Up Or Clean Extra Bedding Or Blankets

You may be bringing your flannel sheets out for the season, or maybe you're putting a few more blankets on the bed.  It's probably time to freshen those up or even wash them first.  I know some people don't mind the smell of linen in the closet, but I prefer to have them smelling fresh.

Stock Up On Pantry Staples

I don't mind the snow nearly as much if I can stay inside where it's warm and cozy.  That being said, I don't want to have to run to the grocery store for a can of tomato sauce, or a can of beans.  I like to have my pantry as stocked as I can.  No, it won't be stocked for winter, but if I can stock up on some of those staples, chances are I won't be going to the store nearly as often.

Organize And Clean The Garage

It's time to make sure all the summer toys are stored away, and that you can find your rakes, snow shovels, your sleds and any other Fall or winter item you might need.

Clean Up The Yard

One of my favorite things about getting ready for Winter is looking out into my yard and knowing that if it snows, my yard is ready.  I don't like when the snow surprises us, and all of our yard items are covered in snow.

Organize Movies, Board Games, And Puzzles

I don't know if you guys are like us, but the movies we watch in the winter are different than the movies we might watch in the summer.  You can pull all your favorites forward and move the other ones to the back.

Board games and puzzles don't get used very often during the warmer months, so if we set our favorite games in a closet nearby, we are more likely to get them out and use them.  As far as puzzles go, we usually put one up the first of Fall and we have one going until the weather gets nice again in the Spring.

Invest In A Couple Of New Books

I love having a couple of good books lying around the house, so when I get a few minutes of quiet time, I can snuggle up and read.

Outfit Your Family

Whether you want to be out in the snow or not, chances are you will be at some point.  Check your winter gear and make sure you and your family are ready.  Does everyone's boots, coats, snowpants, and such still fit.  It's better to buy these things ahead of time, so when the snow finally comes your way you are ready!

What do you like to do in the Fall to make sure that you are ready for winter?

Happy Friday!

I have yet to get tired of saying, "It's Friday!" or "Happy Friday!" and I hope that I never do!

So, on that note... Happy Friday my friends!  :)

Over on Instagram this week, I posted my favorite little corner in the house.
This little corner is always cozy to me, but with a bit of holiday/fall decor, it feels even cozier!

I picked up this cute little throw pillow last weekend from a boutique and I love it!
Here is a similar one.

Speaking of things I'm loving... I thought I'd share a few Fall pieces that would be perfect for this time of year.
Feel free to pin this away for later!

~ONE~

This tee looks cute and comfy.
I'm a big fan of basic long sleeved tees.  Especially when you throw in cute slits on the sides.

~TWO~

And how fun would this scarf look with it!
I have a lot of different scarves that I love, but something about this one just seems so soft and cozy.

~THREE~

I've been on the hunt for a good pair of distressed jeans, and I think this would be a nice pair.  There isn't too much distressing on them, which I like... but a little bit to give them some character.

~FOUR~

I have a couple different jackets that are this color of green and they go with so many outfits.
You could pair this jacket with a fun plaid or solid shirt.  It's seriously the perfect neutral!

~FIVE~

Look at these Wellies... aren't they fun!

I love the higher front and the band around the back.  So cute!

~SIX~

Lastly, I'm loving this bag I love the mixture of brown and black together.  It is guaranteed to pretty much go with any outfit.

Have you done any Fall shopping this year?

A Trip To Bozeman

This last weekend my sister and a couple of our friends headed over to Bozeman for a little girls trip.  Our friends each have a girl in college over there, so we were able to go visit and check in on them as well.

All loaded up and stopping for coffee before hitting the road.

We got to Bozeman in time to meet up for some yummy Mexican food, and we finally got to see our girls!

The next morning, we took this picture before we headed out for the day to explore and do a little shopping.  I think we took close to 10 pictures and this was the best one.  We'll have to work on it... we look a little tired.

I love the Buffalo Plaid shirt that my friend is wearing, and if you do as well, you can find it here.

There were tons of leaves on the ground, and I felt the need for a picture.  Something about leaves, is just fun.

We swung over to the girls dorm to check out their rooms, and I had to document this, because I had never been in a dorm room before.  Obviously B and I were excited about it!  Ha!

They were sweet to put up with me and all my pictures.  These sweet girls even call me Mom... which I think is the best!

I loved getting to hug their necks and see that they are having fun and doing well.  They've also told me I can't be a Griz fan anymore, that I now have to be a Bobcat fan... which is why I was given this mug.  :)

I wonder if there are mugs and sweatshirts with 2 teams on them?!  ;)

Getting out of town is always fun, but I love coming home even more!

I hope you all are having a good week!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday Friends!

Tomorrow is my 35th birthday, and I'm heading out of town later this afternoon to kick off the weekend!  I want to give a shout out to one of my favorite bloggers, Lisa, whose birthday is tomorrow as well. Happy Early Birthday Lisa!  :)

This afternoon I'm headed to Bozeman for the weekend with one of my sisters and two of our closest friends.  We'll go check out the college, the town and have some fun girl time.

The thing with Montana is, when Summer is over, it's over.  I'm hoping that Fall sticks around and that any snow we get, stays up in the mountains for now.

I stopped over at my parents house one morning after the kids got on the bus and took this picture.  It was such a gorgeous morning.

Emma and my Mom

Last Friday my kids didn't have school and we had such a pretty Fall day here.  The weather was warm and it was perfect!  A perfect Fall day calls for a little horseback riding.  I haven't been riding lately, so it was fun to get back in the saddle.

Puzzle season...
In the colder months, if I'm not sitting down with a good book, then I'm usually working on a puzzle.  Do you all work on puzzles?  This was definitely something that my Grandma passed down to us, as my parents aren't interested in them at all.  Isn't it weird how that works?!

I bought this exact pair of shoes 2 years ago and shared it with you then.  Well, my teenage daughter since then, has claimed these shoes as her own.  If your daughter does the same thing, then you know my pain.  If she isn't old enough to wear your shoes and clothes yet... just wait.  ;)

Nike Women's Flex Trainer 5 Trainning Shoe Black/Anthracite/White 8.5

All this to say, I loved these shoes enough to buy the exact same ones.

Just thought I'd share them with you in case you are looking for a new pair of shoes or in case your teenager took your shoes as well.  ;)

Lastly, be sure and follow along on Pinterest where I'm sharing all things pumpkin, plaid, and leaves.

I even have a "cozy" board in case you are needing a little cozy inspiration.

That's it for today...

I'm linking up with Andrea, Erika & Narci.

I hope you all have a great weekend!
