Today I'm linking up with Erin and sharing 10 random facts about myself. I decided to spice it up a bit and share a couple of my crazy facts and not just all of the basic ones. So if you've been wanting me to fly my "freak flag", today is the day. ;)
1. I love to read... but I'm not much of a fan of modern day books. I love books set back in time, especially in the late 1800's out on a homestead, or over in a palace somewhere. I like reading about something different than what we might expect or see today.
2. I could probably qualify for hearing aids, and my eye sight is horrible. Pretty much, I'm a hot mess. Up until 10 years ago, I would call a laptop, a labtop. One day, someone mentioned that I was mispronouncing the word and I was telling my Dad that I had went all these years calling it a labtop, and he said, "I know, I just thought it was cute!" It still makes me laugh, because yes I think my kids mispronouncing something is cute, but do you really think it's cute when they are grown and married. ;)
3. I'm obsessed with ice. I know it's not good for my teeth, and I'm trying to stop, but I love chewing on ice. I will drink my water as fast as I can just to get to the ice. And I've been known on airplanes to just order a cup of ice from the stewardess.
4. I have such a hard time getting out of bed in the morning, but once I do, I love it! I love being one of the first ones up in the morning, and enjoying the quietness of it all. It's my favorite time of the day. I just wish it was easier go get out of bed.

5. I can't stand anything that is sticky. It's all I can do to allow a jar of honey to be in my house. Walking across the kitchen floor to step in something that the kids spilled and didn't clean up... I hate it! Touching something sticky that was left by someone else is probably my biggest pet peeve.
6. I am so ticklish, that I can tickle my own feet. Getting a pedicure is complete torture, but I make myself get one every now and then. The sweet people have to pretty much tackle my legs in order to keep me still.
7. I can eat just about anything except for mushrooms. That doesn't mean I like everything, but I can usually down it. Heck, I've eaten reindeer, alligator... but a mushroom is a big no! I want to like them, but then again, does anyone really need to learn to like fungus? I think not. ;)
8. I'm kind of an old soul. I would rather play cards, read a book or work on a puzzle than go out and have a big exciting evening on the town.
9. I love to cook, but I'm not a fan of baking. I'm not sure why... maybe it has something to do with the fact that I would choose salty over something sweet most of the time?!
10. I have lived in the same small town my whole life. Last I heard the population was down to 1500 people. I've dreamed of living other places, but at the end of the day, I can't imagine living anywhere else. It's just home.

Okay, your turn. Tell me something about you. If it's a bit crazy, that's okay... we'll just fly our "freak flags" together. ;)
Have a great day!
Have a great day!
XO,
I love this list and I can relate to so so many of them. I am an old soul too and I have gotten such great book recommendations from you since we like the same stuff :). Give me England and olden day any day of the week! Ok so I hate ice though...if I have ice in a drink I must have a straw otherwise I prefer to drink without ice. I love these because I get to know you all better. THANKS SO MUCH FOR LINKING up...you hope and pray someone might join the party, so glad you did. :) :) :) xoxo ERIN
ReplyDelete1. I'd rather do a puzzle than go out!
ReplyDelete2. I like to cook but not bake. Mainly because you have to be precise and follow a recipe when baking and I prefer to play "chopped" while cooking!
my freak flag- I don't know my left hand from my right hand... If in a hurry and you tell me to turn right I will automatically turn left instead... if I have time to think about it I can get the right direction!
Yes, another reason I enjoy cooking as well. I can wing it a lot easier. And that's funny about getting your directions mixed up. Thanks for raising your freak flag with me. ;)
DeleteThis was so interesting and it's always fun to learn more about each other. I may have to do something like this sometime. Happy week!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I'm going to link up next month!
ReplyDeleteLoved this Jenny! You'd hate our house bc A loves honey. She has pb and honey sandwiches and roll ups all the time, haha! And I love that you like books set in the past. I haven't read one in years but you've recommended some good ones.
ReplyDeleteHahaha I am just picturing you tickling your own feet! :-p Too funny that your dad still thought it was cute that you were pronouncing laptop incorrectly. I should join this linkup!
